We are joining with Missio, Aid to the Church in Need and Stella Maris in this Jubilee Year to pray the “Rosary of Hope” online on Tuesday 10 June at 7pm. You can register here to get the Zoom link.  All are welcome as we pray the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary together.

Pope Leo XIV said, “Our blessed mother Mary always wants to walk with us, be close to us, she always wants to help us with her intercession and her love.” He invited us to pray together, “for all of the Church, and for peace in the world.”

‘AQUINAS AND FRIENDSHIP’ – Saturday 14 June at St      Pancras church in Lewes – FREE EVENT:

To mark this year’s 800^th anniversary of the birth of St  Thomas Aquinas, Father Andrew Pinsent (now a Professor of Philosophy and Theology at the Athenaeum of Ohio in Cincinnati, and a priest of our own Diocese of Arundel and Brighton) will be speaking about ‘Aquinas and Friendship’. The conference will run from 11am until 1pm, beginning with coffee and including an opportunity for questions after the talk.  Until 2024, Father Andrew was Research Director of the Ian Ramsey Centre for Science and Religion.

Our next breakfast will be Sun 29th June after mass at St George’s – this month our charity is “Young Parishioners Local Retreat(s)”.  We hope you, your family & friends can support this.

There will be a music practice for the Children’s Mass on Saturday 14th June at 10am in St Wilfrid’s Church Hall.   Everyone welcome.
 

Over 50’s Afternoon Tea & Games:  This months theme is French. Our next fun afternoon is Thursday 26th June at 2pm.  If you are new to our parish or never been to one of our fun afternoons, why not give it a go?  Just turn up and join us, you will be very welcome.
 

50 years Ordination Celebration for Fr Paul Jennings.   An afternoon Tea Party to be held on Saturday 12th July at 3.30 pm at St George’s Hall.   All parishioners invited.  Details to follow.

Stella Maris (formerly called Apostleship of the Sea) is seeking one volunteer from this parish please to help with Sea   Sunday (which falls on 12/13 July this year) in this parish. This is the day when the Church comes together to pray for  seafarers, fishers and their families, and takes a second collection to support the work of Stella Maris. The volunteer will read out the appeal (which Stella Maris will provide) at the end of Masses that weekend. If you can kindly do this, please contact [email protected] or call 07887 893 763.

Related to that, all parishioners are warmly invited to an online webinar being run by Stella Maris on Thursday 19^th June from 7:30pm to 9pm. You will hear about the work that Stella Maris has been doing with seafarers and fishers over the past year or so, including the use of the funds kindly donated on Sea Sunday last year. Thank you to all those who have booked already to join us on our parish pilgrimage to Arundel Cathedral on the Feast of Corpus Christi, Thursday 19th June to see the Carpet of Flowers and join in the mass and procession. We have a few seats remaining; these will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
