Our next afternoon tea will be Thursday 25th January 2024 at 2pm. As this is “Burns Night” we shall have a Scottish theme plus Haggis! Of course. See you there. As Annette and Joan are out of pocket on these occasions, we have decided that we will charge £10 each month per person. This will cover the ever rising cost of food and prizes, plus two valuable raffle tickets free!

St Wilfrid’s
A Big Thank You to everyone who helped in anyway to make Christmas so special. We are blessed with many “Good Helpers” throughout the year. They know who they are and we really do appreciate you and all you do to help run St Wilfrid’s, without your help we would not have such a warm welcoming priest. Please keep up the good work in 2024. Plus a special thank you to our Fr Rory, God Bless Him.
Save the Date
Save Sunday 21st January all Catechists, Acolytes, Altar Servers, Ministers of the Word, Eucharist, Welcome, Music and any parishioners who wish to explore being involved in any of these ministries. More details to follow next week.

Bishop Richard – Pastoral Plan
Bishop Richard has written a new Pastoral Plan for the Diocese ‘The Word Who is Life: The Call to Mission’. As society becomes more secular our parishes must be ever-clearer beacons of light guiding people to Christ. The new Plan highlights how our community of faith can embrace this important time of renewal, forging diocesan parishes into communities of saints and strong, lively, and welcoming schools of discipleship. The Pastoral Plan can be found on the diocesan website:

Christmas Collection
As I am sure many of you are aware, Catholic Priests do not receive a salary and rely on your generosity at Christmas and Easter as a thank you for all they do for us. It is also possible to claim gift aid on your donation if you are a UK taxpayer and that extra 25% will go directly to Father Rory. If you aren’t part of a planned giving scheme then please use the “one off” gift aid envelopes located in the porch. You can also contribute via the digital collection plate at St Wilfrid’s or via the donations website link (https://donate.mydona.com/st-wilfrids-church-hailsham ) using the “Christmas Collections” tab.
