Children’s Liturgy:  There will not be any Children’s Liturgy this week.  Both Teresa and Annette are off on a well deserved break.

Children’s Picture Competition:  All our winners received Easter Eggs and presents.  Thank you to Amelia, Amanda, Varsha and Roisen.  It was very interesting to see how the children understood the meaning of the Easter Story, even the sun had a sad face when he saw Jesus crucified!

Thank You is a word used many times.   This Easter we have come to use it more than ever.   Firstly, to our Lord who sent us such beautiful weather, which certainly put a smile on everyone’s face and helped towards good relationships all-round. Secondly, to all the people involved in bringing about a truly meaningful Easter Season.  So much preparation goes on behind the scenes in order that we might come to church and enjoy all the special services.

This year we had the help and jovial presence of Fr Kieran, who put an awful lot into arranging our many services.  Who can forget his special jokes? Where does he find them?  He was of course assisted by our Fr Rory.  Please God, he will continue to recover and be back among us doing the job he was made for.

ENCOUNTER EVENING (FOR 16-35s) THIS SATURDAY IN EASTBOURNE:

This Saturday (May 4th) there will be an ENCOUNTER evening at Our Lady of Ransom in Eastbourne, starting 7.30pm. It’s totally free, and you don’t need to book. ENCOUNTER evenings are all about making friends, singing, praying, being inspired, and eating! Lots of eating. To find out more, search for ‘Catholic ENCOUNTER’ on Facebook.

St George’s Bible Study Group:  A Bible Study group takes place every Tuesday at 6 pm.  Sessions last 1 hour. For information please ring Merce (07855452741)

St George’s Film Club:                                                          

Next dates for film club are: April 28^th (1959) A storyteller seeks the proverbial pot of gold. May 12^th (1963) A charming Disney film about love, mysterious family secrets and small town      summer nights. May 26^th (1993) The latest adaptation of Mark Twain’s timeless story.   All showings start at 3 pm.

Divine Mercy, Sunday 28th April:  Let us accept God’s invitation to celebrate and practise mercy: One way the Church celebrates God’s mercy throughout the year is through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Finding time for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is another good way to receive and give thanks for Divine Mercy. It is mainly through our own works of mercy as we go about our daily lives that we practise mercy and are so able to receive God’s merciful judgment. St. Teresa of Kolkata (Mother Teresa) put it like this: “If we pray, we will believe; if we believe, we will love; if we love, we will serve. Only then we put our love of God into action.”  Please note that there will be a recitation of the Chaplet, veneration of the image, with a homily and music, at 3pm at Our Lady of  Ransom.   Please pray for God’s Mercy upon our country on this day.
