Last Wednesday we celebrated Dennis Browns 75th Birthday in style, please pray for Cecilia, who he cares for, she is quite poorly.
 

Lulu is in hospital having a knee replacement.  Please spare a prayer for her and pick out any weeds in the garden, as she will not be able to attend the beautiful plants she normally does for a while.
 

St George’s Meeting Sunday, June 1st:  The second of St George’s quarterly church meetings will take place after Mass on Sunday, June 1st. Minutes from the previous meeting are available in the file at the back of the church. These meetings are an important opportunity for our community to share, reflect, and move forward together in prayer, formation, and mission. Tea and coffee will be served first.  
 

GCSE and A Level Exams began last week so we ask God’s blessing on the students taking their exams and their families and teachers.  
 

Our Children’s First Holy Communion Breakfast:  As is the custom at St Wilfrid’s, the children have their First Holy Communion Breakfast the Sunday following their First Holy Communion Day.  We had 10 candidates this year so the table headed by Fr Rory was large. Specialities made by Annette and Sophie; large 3 tier cake, red jellies with a white marshmallow for the host, fairy cakes with a gold cross, then Teresa provided “healthy options”.  The buffet table was laden with food, just as well because so many parishioners came in after Mass, lovely to see new faces.

Arundel Cathedral Pilgrimage for Corpus Christi  Thursday, June 19th: 

Join us for a special pilgrimage to Arundel Cathedral on the Feast of Corpus Christi. See the stunning Carpet of Flowers, attend Mass at 5:30pm, and take part in the procession and benediction.

Travel by coach, departing from Christ the King 12.30pm, Eastbourne Town Centre 12.45pm and St George’s Polegate 1.00pm.  £20 per person. To book: please provide name/s, contact number, email, along with full payment by Sunday, June 1st to Jean (St Wilfrid’s), Sandra (St George’s) or post to the parish office marked Arundel Pilgrimage. Sandra will contact all those booked on w/c 9th June with final itinerary  and confirm pick up arrangements. We hope you can join us!

First Communion Breakfast is being held at St Wilfrid’s this Sunday after mass – we congratulate and continue to pray for all those who received the sacrament of the Eucharist for the first time last week, their families and their catechists

If you like the idea of having live music in church, please come to our music practice on Saturday 24th May at 10am in St Wilfrid’s Church Hall.  We will be practicing for the children’s mass.
