CAFOD Big Lent Walk:

Gerry and Teresa Palmer would like to share a further update on their CAFOD Big Lent Walk.

Having recently gathered together all the offline donations—from sponsorship forms, cheques, and the parish digital collection—we have been truly touched by the generosity shown. An additional £395 has been added, bringing the total raised to £765.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed. Through your kindness, we have helped raise enough to provide clean water for a whole community—an inspiring reminder of what can be achieved together.

If there is any outstanding sponsorship still to come in, we would be very grateful if it could be passed on soon. The JustGiving page also remains open for anyone who may still wish to contribute.

With our sincere thanks and every blessing,
Gerry & Teresa Palmer

Thank You

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making our Spring Fair such a success! Together, we raised an amazing £1,170.

Special congratulations to Raizel, Oskar, and their team for raising £118 on the toy stall – this will go towards the cost of their pilgrimage to Lourdes. There will be more opportunities in the coming weeks to support them.

The remaining £1052 will be put towards hall equipment and redecoration. Thank you all for your generosity and support!

CAFOD BIG LENT WALK UPDATE:

We’re delighted to share that we’ve completed CAFOD’s Big Lent Walk! We set out to walk 200km in 40 days, but with your wonderful support, we reached 275km.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has sponsored us. Your generosity and encouragement kept us going and have been a real reminder of the strength we find in our parish community and in supporting those in need.

If anyone still has outstanding sponsorship to send in, we would be very grateful if it could be passed on soon, so that we can forward the full amount to CAFOD.

With our sincere thanks and every blessing,

Gerry & Teresa Palmer

Holy Week:

Holy Week:  What a beautiful and grace-filled Holy Week we shared together—from Palm Sunday at both our churches, to Holy Thursday at St George’s, the Family Stations and Solemn Liturgy at St Wilfrid’s on Good Friday, the moving Easter Vigil with bells and light, and finally the joyful, sunlit celebrations on Easter Sunday morning.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made these days so special: Fr Paul and Deacon John for your spiritual ministry, and all who served so generously in the Ministries of Welcome, music, altar serving, sacristy, flowers, cleaning, youth work, and refreshments. Your dedication and hard work brought such life and beauty to our celebrations.

As we come to the end of the Octave of Easter, we look ahead with joy to the rest of Eastertide and beyond, continuing together as friends in Christ.
