This weekend, the 5th in the holy season of Lent, begins the last week before Holy Week and next Sunday is Palm Sunday. At Mass this weekend you will be given the full programme of times and places where our parish will celebrate the great events of our salvation, the death and resurrection of the Lord. Please make sure you take the handout home with you so that you know when and where to join the parish family for its celebration of Holy Week and Easter.
The week after Easter, that is, the week beginning April 6th, I have a long-standing commitment to say Mass at Hove, so the Mass on Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th will be at 12noon and not 10am as usual. I shall be saying Mass in Hove on the Saturday evening and in Bexhill in the morning on Sunday 12th so there will be just one Mass in the parish on Sunday 12th and that will be at 5.30pm at St Wilfrid’s. These are commitments I made some time ago, long before our situation here in Hailsham and Polegate arose, so I hope you will understand.
If you need a Sunday morning Mass on 12th, there is Mass in Eastbourne at 9am (St Gregory, Victoria Drive); 9.30am (St Joachim, Brodrick Road, Hampden Park) 10.15am (Our Lady of Ransom, Grange Road); 11.30am (St Agnes, Whitley Road); 11.30am (Christ the King, Princes Road).
